BPF Will Return in 2027

Day of Portugal at Boston’s City Hall will return in 2027
The Boston Portuguese Festival (BPF) is pleased to announce a special fundraising event, the “Fado & Wine Tasting Celebration,” taking place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Multicultural Arts Center, 41 Second Street, Cambridge, MA.
This intimate cultural event comes as the Festival pauses its annual large-scale celebration in 2026 due to the City of Boston hosting FIFA World Cup Fan Zone programming at City Hall Plaza during the months of June and July. While the community will not gather at the Plaza this year, the organization remains focused on maintaining its mission and preparing for a strong return in June 2027.
The Fado & Wine Tasting Celebration will feature a curated selection of Portuguese wines from various regions, generously provided by MS Walker, along with appetizers donated by local businesses. Guests will enjoy a live
performance of traditional Fado music by Sónia Bettencourt, accompanied by her guitarists, offering an authentic and immersive cultural experience.
Held as part of the broader Day of Portugal celebrations, this event serves as both a cultural gathering and a key fundraising initiative to support the future of the Boston Portuguese Festival.
Paulo Pinto, Board Director of BPF, shared: “Even in a year without the main festival, it is important that we continue to bring people together. Events like this allow us to maintain our presence in the community and keep the spirit of Portuguese
culture alive as we prepare for our return to Boston in 2027.”
The Boston Portuguese Festival invites community members, sponsors, and supporters to attend and contribute to this meaningful initiative. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and all proceeds will directly support future programming and the return of the Festival.
